Ubuntu is a Linux OS supported on the Debian GNU and is currently available on netbooks, servers, PCs and mobile devices with the MID Edition.

Chris Kenyon, Canonical boss, said that,
“A version of Ubuntu specially designed for tablets could be coming our way in early 2011.”
By Kenyon, the shift to a tablet platform is the subsequent aspiration.
He stated,
“Ubuntu has “broader and bigger ambitions than just netbooks. The devices world is a really exciting space right now, and we’re really bullish on it.”
“Congratulations to the iPad panel for presenting what they performed.”
PC World is saying that,
“A tablet version of Ubuntu would be based on version 10.10, which is, brilliantly, codenamed Maverick Meerkat.”
