Here comes the launch of a new six-core consumer CPU, the Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition, and new high-end motherboard chipset, the 890FX from AMD.

As you would anticipate from a great release, there’s been a lot of pushing for the position at the back the sight, particularly in Taipei, Taiwan. Since it’s a high-end launch, different motherboard and memory companies concerned to have been inspecting out how the new chip and chipset charge with over clocking, and I fell by G.Skill’s offices a duo of weeks back to get their imitation of AMD’s fresh stuff.

At the time, a story was filed about G.Skill’s latest 2,500MHz DDR3 but I also had the opportunity to see the Asus M4A89GTO Pro (890FX/SB850) running four sticks of DDR3 at 1,800MHz, with timings of 6-8-6-24-40-2T.

The over clocked test system used the most recent Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition C3. However, we also observed it achieve alike memory speeds using a Phenom II X2 555 Black Edition as well. The top frequency is easier to hit with the latest C3 stride CPUs thanks to AMD’s modification of its CPU-NB link, but if you have a “high-quality” C2 it can hit these speeds also.

G.Skill was eager to point out that the CAS 6 is not attainable with every 890FX board at release, though when as I tripped a couple of weeks before the release, the company’s representatives informed me the FAE teams at each motherboard company still had time to tweak and jingle their BIOSes.

4GB memory kits will be accessible before long and should have either ideal Storm or Trident heat sinks closed, but the company is as yet unsure about the upcoming variety. As for purchasing an Asus M4A89GTO Pro – well, when AMD releases its 890FX in a little while, then you can get one!
